When you want to add a new user to an account, an account administrator needs to send out an invitation to the team member to join the account.
Sometimes, we see users create trial accounts when what they really want to do is log in to an existing account as a team member. This happens if you did not use the emailed invitation link sent from the administrator of the pre-existing account, and instead have created an account from the TelemetryTV trial signup page on your own.
When this happens, your email address becomes associated with the trial account, which prevents your team from inviting you to the existing account.
In order to solve this problem, the trial account must be deleted.
Luckily, this is easily done.
Deleting a Mistake Account
In Settings, which is accessible at any time from the left-hand toolbar (gear icon), select "Delete Account."
When the system asks you if you're sure you want to delete, hit the red "Delete Account" button at the bottom of the page.
🚨Please be advised that all content will be automatically deleted with the account. If you have created anything you would like to keep, you'll need to export it before deletion.
Connecting to the Correct Account
Now that you've deleted your trial account, your email address will be free to use with the existing account. You'll need to make sure that your administrator has provided an email invitation for you to join the paid account.
You can send them these instructions to invite you to the account if they haven't already.
Simply locate the TelemetryTV account invitation in your email, and follow the prompts to add yourself as a team member. Now, you'll have access to the correct account!
