Pairing Slack and WebHooks
TelemetryTV supports Slack notifications about device status using incoming WebHook functionality. Once set up, the Slack channel of your choice will receive automated communications about device failure in real time.
Option 1: will walk users through how to obtain a Slack specific WebHook that can be pasted into the TelemetryTV App.
Option 2: Will walk user's through how to paste other WebHook URL's into the TelemetryTV App to receive communications in other apps
Option 1: Pair Slack-WebHooks With the TelemetryTV App
1. Open slack and click on the dropdown menu in the workspace that you would like to pair with incoming WebHooks. For example: Under the "Telemetry" workspace, scroll down and select the "Apps" tab.
2. In the search bar on the "Apps" page, search for "Incoming WebHooks" and click "Add"
3. A browser window will open with your workspace channels. Configure the channels that you want the incoming Slack-WebHooks communications to be sent to by clicking the edit button.
4. The next step is to obtain a URL that can be pasted into the TelemetryTV app to allow communications about device failures to be communicated. Don't forget to include a naming convention for your Slack-WebHook message bot to make sure other Slack users in your channel are aware of where the notifications are coming from.
Please Note: The "Regenerate" button will create a new, unique URL. If your TelemetryTV account already has an existing URL for WebHook connectivity, it will have to be replaced with the new, regenerated URL.
