TelemetryTV natively supports video walls and lets you do creative and interesting
things with them.

Video Splitting Method

The traditional way to build video walls with digital signage is to use some sort of video matrix system.  This is a hardware device that takes a single video output (HDMI or DisplayPort) from a TelemetryTV device and then splits the signal to two or more televisions.   

Commercial TV's will often have support for Video Walls and taking a duplicated signal then only showing their relevant portion of the signal for their position in the video wall.  You can daisy chain commercial TV's together using their Display Port input/output.

The major limitation of using signal splitting is that the output resolution (typically 1920x1080) from the device running TelemetryTV is shared among all of the TVs and can look blurry on individual TVs.  You will not be able to use the full native resolution of each TV.  For instance a source 1080p signal split to a 4x4 video wall would only show 480x270 pixels on each TV.  

Displaying at Native Resolution

TelemetryTV supports unlimited resolutions.  As long as you have the displays and the hardware to drive them TelemetryTV can scale to meet the size.  
To display at native resolution you must have a video output from your device for each TV you want to drive.  Additionally you must setup in the operating system video driver to span the display across all of the screens.  We suggest using an AMD video card with Eyefinity for this (or the Nvidia or Intel equivalents).

The limitation of this method is that as the video wall grows in display numbers there will be a lot of pixels to drive.  This will eventually outstrip even the most powerful hardware to be able to operate lag free on very large arrays of TVs.  You will need to test your setup to ensure that your display application has enough hardware to drive the video wall in an acceptable manner.

ChromeOS or Windows 10 

With a video splitter or matrix you can use either ChromeOS or Windows 10 successfully for a video wall.  However, when using native resolutions for most Video Walls you're going to want to use Windows 10 as it is able to support unlimited video outputs whereas ChromeOS devices will only have two video outputs at most. 

At the time this article was written, ChromeOS devices support at most a setup of two displays wide, one display tall.

Enabling Video Wall Functionality on ChromeOS through Google Admin

In order to properly display a video wall on ChromeOS, 'Unified Desktop' has to be enabled for the organization containing the video wall device. To do this,  click on the TelemetryTV Media Player app in the apps list under Device Management > Chrome Management > App Management.

Then, click on Kiosk Settings > Select the video wall device's organization > Toggle "Enable unified desktop (BETA)" to the on position.

Videos and Images

You will likely want to ensure you encode your images and videos to match the aspect ratio and resolution of the video wall.  TelemetryTV will stretch to match.  Keep in mind that you will need very powerful hardware to play videos at 4k in resolution.  Please test before deploying and adjust your resolutions down to match the capabilities of your device if needed.
